A grande noite de prémios da indústria dos videojogos, The Game Awards, aconteceu durante a madrugada de quinta para sexta-feira.
Os grandes destaques do evento foram sem dúvida o Prémio de Melhor Jogo do Ano e Estúdio do Ano, que foram, respetivamente , para Overwatch e para a Blizzard. O prémio de Melhor Banda Sonora para DOOM, Melhor Interpretação para Nolan North e o prémio de Games for Impact para That Dragon Cancer, com o criador do jogo Ryan Green a subir ao palco visivelmente emocionado e a deixar todos com o coração nas mãos.
